Colapteryx virgo

Colapteryx virgo (Male). European damselfly photographed at Bailleul sur Thérain. Very difficult to get close to, but with a little patience you can get a lucky shot like this.

  2. That's a great picture. I shake too much to take pictures up close. I am looking for a small digital camera that will help remove the shaking I do.

That damselfly reminds of the first few times I took a particular friend fly fishing. Ever time a damselfly would come near his head he would pull his jacket over his head. I used to laugh, but he got over it eventually.

  3. It was probably the 10th shot that I took. Not easy to photograph these guys as they are very shy.

To the naked-eye you don't see the detail, but the enlarged photo shows some interesting features of the insect.
